The romance of the written word.
The Damask began with the romance of the written word. Old books, handwritten pages, language, and the rough texture of parchment all found their way into its design. The dial was kept quiet and imperfect, with enough open space to let the texture speak for itself.
Damask Gold frames that same texture in a warm gold-tone case.
Choose a Tan Parchment, Pale Pink or Lavender Mist parchment-textured dial, paired with gold-tone hands and indices. The pink dial can feel almost blush-white in one light and unmistakably pink in the next; tan brings a warmer, more traditional parchment tone.
The Damask is a 38mm mechanical watch with presence. Its curved lugs sweep down toward the wrist, helping the case sit naturally even on a smaller wrist, while the high-domed crystal continues that gentle curvature across the top of the watch.
The handset gives this version a slightly fuller silhouette too, with a broader hour hand balanced against slender gold markers.

How milling creates the texture
Milling is a mechanical softening process: the leather is tumbled in a large rotating drum to soften its fibers and bring out its natural grain. The result is a supple feel and a gently pebbled texture, with subtle variations from one piece to the next.

Dark ash brown gives the watch a quiet, earthy contrast. Fine pebbled grain catches the light across the surface, bringing depth and subtle variation to the deep brown tone.
Alran has tanned leather in Mazamet, France since 1903. Its Sully goatskin is made for fine leather goods and watch straps, pairing a tightly defined, shrunken grain with a substantial feel.
